Notes
She-wolf is a webcam photo originally produced as a 'sketch' in response to an exhibition brief on the theme of cryptozoology. As a starting point for the work, I was interested in invoking folkloric human-animal shapeshifters like kitsune as well as art historical depctions of predatory incubi. The image also relates to the she-wolf of Roman legend and the yogic posture 'downward dog'.
The exhibition - titled Terrestrial Sightings - was never realized, however I was invited to include this preparatory work in the group show Darkling Eclipse, curated by Leisure Projects, and exhibited at Das Weisse Haus in Vienna, Austria.
