Do Something for Wildness and Make the Mountains Glad
Demarco Skateraw Project, Dunbar, Scotland

Notes

In 2006, I - along with other Edinburgh College of Art M.F.A. students - was invited by curator Richard Demarco to exhibit work at the Demarco Skateraw Project in Dunbar, Scotland. Untitled (Demarco) consisted of five fishing-lines laden with carefully spaced sequins. The lines were attached to the tops of the Archive's vitrines and spanned the central width of the warehouse space. The sequins weren't individually fastened to the line, so they responded to drafts with twinkling movement.

The Demarco Skateraw Project is situated on farmland along the Scottish coast. Through this site-specific installation I aimed to create an interior horizon-line, drawing a connection between the Archive and the landscape.
